Wrapping Up the List (10/30/16)

We've gotten most things checked off our to-do list with the exception of painting the doors!  Mike finished caulking all the trim that wasn't just right in the joints.  He put up a trim piece on the wall going down the steps.  He also hung the door on the laundry chute in our bedroom, this is also on the list of doors that will need to be painted.

So now Mike is going to do some major cleaning in the garage so he has space to paint the doors.  That will be our last thing to get done and then we can finally say this reno is finished!  Can't wait!

Final Inspection PASSED!!!! (10/21/16)

We had our final inspection today and we passed with flying colors!!!!  YAY!!!  Feels so good to have that behind us!

Final Inspection Prep (10/20/16)

Tomorrow we have our final inspection!!  We had a few things left on our list to get done before the inspection, including attaching the ladders in the egress windows to the retaining wall.  Mike did this last weekend.  The city advised us when we made the appointment that we needed to have sink areas caulked where water could potentially get in, so Mike caulked around the upstairs bathroom sink and shower this week.  He also caulked all the windows.  As far as we know we are ready for the inspection, fingers crossed it goes well and we pass inspection the first time!  This is going to be a big step in this reno process to get past!

Kate's Closet Door (10/1/16)

Mike got a door for Kate's closet.  Her closet opening is short from the duct work we had to work around so he had to cut the door down.  It needs to be painted, he's going to prime it for now and then paint it when we paint the rest of the doors.
