Today Mike took out the old closet in Jonah's room.

Downstairs Closet Demo (11/25/14)

Today Mike took out the closet downstairs that was in the old laundry room.  

Fireplace Tile Grouted (11/23/14)

Today Mike grouted the tile on the hearth of the fireplace.

Fireplace Stone & Tile (11/21/14)

Tonight Mike put the stone and tile on the fireplace.  

...and there's a leak (11/20/14)

Today I taped all the seams in the closet in Jonah's room....and we discovered a leak :(  The water lines in the shower in the upstairs bathroom did not seal properly and are slowly dripping.  Mike got some spray sealer and sprayed it on the outside of the connections, hopefully this does the trick!

Jonah's Closet Sheetrocked (11/19/14)

Today Mike finished sheetrocking the closet in Jonah's room.  He also started doing some figuring and cutting for the tile and stone for the fireplace.

Sheetrock in Jonah's Closet (11/18/14)

Today I insulated the back wall of the new closet in Jonah's room.  The bathroom is on the other side so hopefully this will help a little bit with noise.  Mike did some wiring and put up most of the sheetrock, he just has a few pieces to finish up around the door.

Mike also put in the outlet extensions for the outlets in the kitchen where we just put in the new backsplash; and he also ran the gas line out to the garage so we have heat again out there.

Closet in Jonah's Room (11/17/14)

Tonight we opened up the wall in Jonah's room (Evan's future room) for the new closet.  We are taking out the existing closet to make more space in the center bedroom.  Mike was able to get one piece of sheetrock up to close off the room for the night.

Now we have officially touched/changed/torn apart EVERY SINGLE room in the house!  This was the last room untouched....but not anymore!

Kitchen Backsplash & Fire (11/16/14)

Today I tiled the backsplash in the kitchen.  It can't be completely finished until we put up the trim around the window, but the bulk of it is done.

Mike got the gas run to the fireplace and everything all hooked up so it finally works!

Heat Duct Hookup (11/14/14)

Our heat is very uneven in the house because there are not ducts run to all the new rooms.  Mike was able to hook the ducts back up to Jonah's room, the office, and our bedroom.  He also ran a temporary duct over to Kate and Evan's room.  It definitely made a difference and will work for now until we can find more time to get the furnace permanently moved and all the new ducts run.

Shower Tile Finished (11/13/14)

Today we finished grouting the shower in the upstairs bathroom.  Mike put in the faucet and also did all the caulking around the tile.

Tonight we got about half of the shower grouted.

Mike finished putting up the tile in the shower in the upstairs bathroom today.

Today Mike tiled the floor in the shower and finished the pieces up by the ceiling.

More Shower Tile (11/2/14)

Today Mike got more of the shower in the upstairs bathroom tiled.
