Where'd the siding go?? (8/8/13)

Mike was ready to start removing the siding from the front of the house so he could tear it apart to get ready for the front porch roof.  I put an ad on Craigslist last night saying you can have it for free but you have to remove it.  A couple and their friend came from Zimmerman this morning and took off all the siding!  People are crazy! :)  But I was glad to give it to someone in need!

We have a pile of black dirt in the backyard with no place to go, so I started spreading it throughout the yard so we have nice dirt for seed to grow.

We also moved the canopy to its permanent location.

Mike cut some holes in the front of the house and starting setting the posts.

More Porch Prep (8/7/13)

I spent the afternoon picking weeds out of the yard in the back.  I'm trying to get it ready for seed sometime soon since the weather is getting cooler.

Tonight Mike took more stuff off the front of the house to prep for the porch.  He also put on some brackets for the posts.

Mike put in the back egress window tonight.

We are going to work on the roof for the front porch now so the whole roof can be shingled.  To prep for that Mike pulled out a bush and took off the gutter and soffits tonight.

Brick Breakin' (8/4/13)

Today Mike opened up the old basement wall into the addition!  We wanted to bust out all the bricks and haul them out the egress window before putting in that back window.  Mike got it all cut and broke out and we got all the blocks hauled out!  It was a full trailer load to haul to the dump! Mike just needs to straighten up the edges where the wall was cut, this will make a little more dust and then we can get it all cleaned up down there!

just didn't stop!!!  Love this kid!  

Windows (8/2/13)

Tonight Mike put in the 3 windows that will be in our bedroom.  We had returned the original windows that we bought and got ones that open instead of fixed.  He also framed in the back egress window so it is ready for the actual window....when we are ready :)

Tonight Mike glued down the caps on both the tops of the egress window wells.  He also put in one of the windows.  We put some class 5 down in the bottom of the wells too.
