Holy Heights! (7/8/13)

Tonight we...yes we, both of us nailed down the tar paper on the roof.  Mike put it down and I helped nail it down.  First I said no, then he said it'd go a lot faster if I helped so I felt guilty and went up there.  I definitely don't want to spend anymore time up there if I don't have to!  But we got it all nailed down just as it was getting dark out!

Roof (7/7/13)

Today Mike finished doing the sheeting on the roof, added an edging piece around the whole new part, and started putting down tar paper.

Windows

Today Mike got the patio door installed and the 2 back bedroom windows in.  When he was putting in the bedroom windows they ended up being the wrong size than what we thought we ordered so he had to cut down the wall another inch and a half to fit in the windows.  The 3 small windows that are higher up on the wall in the bedroom are still in debate....they were going to be just fixed windows that don't open but we keep going back and forth on what kind of windows we want there.  So tonight as a nice breeze was coming through those windows we decided maybe we should exchange them for the awning style that open, so they we look the same but open.

The house is wrapped (7/5/13)

Today Mike got the house wrap on and the side door installed.

We have a roof! (7/3/13)

We got our roof over the addition today!  The guys were able to get it all finished in one day which was so awesome!

Taking off the Shingles

Tonight Mike took the shingles off the back of the house and the side in prep for the roof  over the addition to be done!  He also took the gutter off the side of the house on the non-driveway side.

Bedroom Wall (7/1/13)

Tonight Mike cut in the holes for the side door and windows for the bedroom.  He built the inside wall  for our bedroom and also finished the sheeting on top of the outside walls.  Pulling lots of late nights around here!
