Crown Molding for Cubbies (5/30/14)

Today we got the crown molding for our cubbies and the doors for the book shelf next to the fireplace.  They have hinges so the doors can easily be removed since the TV is in there.  We are just about done with our cabinets; we didn't like how the doors for both the up and downstairs bathroom closets turned out so they are going to redo them and that should be the last thing.

Fixing the Circle Patio AGAIN...WHAT?!?!

After the pool decided to dump on the patio and wash out the sand, for the 4th time Mike fixed the patio again today!!  At least this time he didn't have to pull much out so it didn't take too long!

He also put in a little more flooring in the living room.

Found these HUGE lilacs on a walk tonight, my house smells amazing!!

Fireplace! (5/28/14)

Today we got the rest of our cabinets that weren't right on the initial install on May 5th.  This includes:

Corner cabinet in kitchen
Fireplace
Missing pieces for the bookshelves along side the fireplace
Seat for cubbies
Doors for both up and down bathroom closets

The cabinet installers were here all day long, didn't leave until about 9 PM!  They didn't have enough crown molding for the cubbies so once again they will be back for that.

So......our circle patio has a curse on it!  2 days ago we pulled up half of it and fixed it so it was nice and level again.  So that means its time to get the pool setup, right!?!?!  We set it up and just after Mike and I went to bed we hear this gush of water!  Apparently the pool was filled a little too high and the side flipped down and a ton of the water poured out!  It came out with so much force that it washed out the sand under the pavers in that spot.  Just lovely, now it needs to be fixed again!!  Kinda feels like we're not meant to have that patio!?!?!  Or maybe it thinks we have nothing better to do?!!? ;)  I think not!

TV Setup (5/27/14)

Today I did some mudding in the office closets and Mike got the TV and receivers all setup in the new book shelf next to the fireplace.  We are getting the rest of our cabinets tomorrow including the fireplace so Mike had to move an outlet on the fireplace wall to get ready for it.

3rd Times a Charm on that Circle Patio! (5/26/14)

Last year when the front end loader dug the hole for the addition it sat on our circle patio.  The patio ended up sinking down on that side so it was not level anymore.  We are ready to put in the other patio blocks behind the house and along the garage so we decided it was time to fix it. 

Yesterday we went to the compost site in SSP and got some free sand for the patios.  

Today we started tearing apart the circle patio!  This is the 3rd time putting this dang thing down!  
1. When we built it at our old house
2. When we pulled it up from our old house and brought it here
3. Now!
Hopefully it stays put now!!

All the pavers are out and he's started adding in more sand & leveling it out

We were able to finish it all up!  So nice to be done in one day!

We got all the pavers pulled out that we needed to fix, sand added in to level it back out, the pavers put back into place, and sand filled in all the cracks all in one day!  It started to drizzle on us a little and got dark out....but it got done!

Bathroom Door (5/24/14)

Today Mike finished the flooring in front of the upstairs bathroom and put in the door to the bathroom.

Fence (5/23/14)

Today Mike finished putting up the white fence section and he also connected the chain link fence back up.

Fence Posts (5/22/14)

Today Mike put in some more flooring in the living room.

He also concreted in the fence posts for the short section of white fencing we are putting in and to tie in the old chain link fence.

Mike put down more flooring in the living room tonight, it's getting there, not too much left.

I did some more taping in the closets in the office.

We got a small section of white fencing to put up next to the house on the non-garage side.  Mike dug the footing holes for it.  There were a few areas in the yard that could use more dirt so I spread out the dirt from the holes and put down some grass seed....now to keep the kids out of those areas! ;)

Living Room Flooring (5/20/14)

Today I did some taping in the two walk-in closets in the office.

Mike put down a little more flooring in the living room.  We thought it'd be a good idea to put down at least a box of the flooring a day to get a little done here and there between all the other things!

Office Closet Sheetrock (5/19/14)

Today Mike sheetrocked the closets in the office so I have something to mud while he is working on other things.

He also hung the mirror in the downstairs bathroom.  Eventually we are going to put a frame around it, but for now at least we have a normal sized mirror!

This morning I caught Jonah "working" on the flooring :)  So cute!!!  He found some scraps and was trying to fit them in.  Just like Daddy!

Front Steps (5/18/14)

When the weather got too cold in the fall we quit working on the outside and started on the inside.  Mike had put up some temporary front steps and on the opposite end of the porch for the time being.  Today he finally got around to building the new steps in front of the front door!  He needs to pick up some more wood for the front of the steps to finish them up.

Living room floor patch (5/17/14)

When we took out the old hardwood flooring in the living room right away I noticed a pet stain on the floor in front of the door.  Mike cut out that section and replaced it with plywood, then put down more of the flooring underlayment so it's ready for more flooring to be put down.

Living room flooring (5/16/14)

Today Mike put down more of the living room flooring.  He had to replace a couple of the floor boards underneath the flooring and put in the edge pieces around the stairs.

Cooktop & Faucets (5/15/14)

Today Mike put in the faucets in the downstairs bathroom.

First time brushing teeth in the new bathroom!

 Mike installed the cooktop on the island.  Now we officially have a fully functioning kitchen! YAY!

Countertops!!! (5/14/14)

We got our new countertops today!!!  They turned out perfect and beautiful - I just love them!!!!

Mike got the kitchen sink and dishwasher hooked up.  I got everything all officially put away in our new kitchen!  It feels so good to have a sink in the kitchen again and a home for all our things!  YAY!!!
