Stained (1/2/11-1/3/11)

It took Mike 2 days to stain all the rooms (getting a late start both days).  It is the color I was thinking and I do like it, but I'm still a little apprehensive.  Mike had to use an edger sander by the edges, well the stain did not take the same around the edges.  It looks like he just rubbed the stain around in any direction and not with the grain, of course he didn't but it looks like it.  So he's going to try and add more stain to the edges and hopefully it will look more even.  We are also hoping that possibly the poly top coat will change the appearance a little too.  We were planning on rugs with the edges showing, so it's not that big of a deal, just a little bit of a let down.

Now we need to find time to do the 2 top coats.  They have to dry 3-4 hours in between coats, but can't go more than 12 hours otherwise you have to sand them again, don't want to do that! Since we are not sure how long it will take to do the 4 rooms it's hard to gauge when is a good time.  We mostly work on the house in the evenings after work so this doesn't give Mike enough time, but we want to get it done as it is slowing up the progress of getting other things done.  We are thinking possibly Thursday the 6th...hopefully!
