Porch Deck Joist Progress (7/19/21-7/21/21)

Porch Deck Joists (7/18/21)

Mike started putting in the joists for the porch. Mike got them secured in the bracket and Evan came behind him and finished screwing them in!

Sidewalk Formed (7/17/21)

The sidewalk is formed up and ready to be poured!

Porch Beams (7/15/21)

Mike put on the outside structural beams on the porch deck. They are 3 boards thick!

Rain Garden (7/12/21)

 We got the rain garden put in on Monday.

We reconfigured it - instead of it going out further in the yard we decided to run it longer and narrower along the fence

Once the rain garden was dug Mike figured out that the pipe running to the street that was already there for our sump pump was not low enough to drain the rain garden.  He decided to fix it now while everything was all dug up anyways.  They had to trench all the way out to the street!

Porch Posts (7/10/21)

 Mike got the posts put up for the porch.  It's starting to look like something now!

Header Board (7/6/21)

Mike started putting up the header board for the porch last night.  Between rain and not having all the supplies he needs yet to fix the other areas he didn't get too far - but its a start!

Front of the House Demo

Today Mike removed more stuff off the front of the house in preparation of putting the header board on  for the porch.  There was some water damage on the Bilt-rite so that will need to be replaced before he can put on the header board.

All the ugly trim around the front window is gone!

Brick Removed (7/3/21)

 Mike removed all the brick from the front of the house.  

Footings Poured (7/2/21)

 Yesterday we had the footings for the porch poured.

Footing Prep for Inspection (6/30/21)

 Mike had to bell-out some of the footings at the base before the inspector could look at them on 7/1/21.  The inspection went just fine and we are ready to pour the footings tomorrow!

Gravel Sidewalk (6/29/21)

We had a load of gravel hauled in for the sidewalk area.  It'll be a good base and keep the area a bit cleaner until we can get a sidewalk poured. 

Footings Dug! (6/28/21)

 It's Go-Time! We have 7 huge footing holes dug in our yard!  The front step and sidewalk was also removed.

Retaining Wall Demo (6/27/21)

 More prep before the footing holes can be dug for the porch!  We gave away the landscaping blocks for the retaining wall along the sidewalk.  I nice family came and removed them and took them away - easy work for us!

Plant Relocating (6/24/21)

We have a start date for the porch!  We are starting June 28th!  Since the plants out front are not too old I moved them into the backyard so we can keep them.
